The last Saturday 9th of December the mayor of Ferreries inagurated the Christmas fair of the town. It was on Espanya square and it was opened all the weekend.
In the inaguration, the junior music band played some Christmas songs, like Jingle Bells and Fum fum fum. They played on the square and then they went to the retirement home.
Most of the market stands sold beautiful handmade objects like leather articles, clothes and jewellery.
There were food stands too, where you could buy cheese or Christmas sweets.
On that weekend people could go to a showcooking of a Christmas recipe, in charge of the restaurant Rias Baixas. The chef of the restaurant showed to the people how to cook shellfish and fish crepes. There was a flower workshop, too.
This fair is part of a program named ”Ferreries tot l’any”. It is organized by Ferreries’s Town Hall.
This program is trying to give a different theme to every month of the year. For example, October was the
craftwork’s month and there was a craftwork fair too. November was the mushrooms’ month. There were
excursions to look for mushrooms and cooking workshops showing recipes with mushrooms.
